we can use the memorial season as an opportunity to look through our wardrobe, our movie and music collections, perhaps even the material stored on our computers, smartphones, and tablets.if i were going to a place where jesus would be present, would i feel uncomfortable wearing this clothing?if i did wear it, would it be obvious to all that i am a follower of christ jesus?would jesus be entertained by watching this movie or by listening to this music?

if he borrowed my cell phone or tablet, would i be embarrassed by what he saw there?as you consider the subject matter of a video game, ask yourself: would i find it difficult to explain to jesus why i enjoy playing it?

I did some spring cleaning of my own this week. I just tossed my meeting briefcase and service bag. I checked the service bag to see how long it's been since I've been out in service. The magazines in there were from 2011. lol

Today is Christmas, and guess what? Witnesses's were going house to house on my block, TODAY ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

i kid you not!!!!!

my family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families christmas tradition.

we open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.. so, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, jehovahs witnesses!

my old service overseer, also a pioneer, didn't go out in service on holidays like Xmas and Thanksgiving. Which is funny since the service overseer is supposed to motivate publishers to go out on those days. I think the CO or something talked to him about it because he started doing it a year before I faded.

New Field Service Format?

it seems that hype is the only thing keeping jw.org alive and well these days (that and the money of suckers who continue to fall for it).. at meeting on monday, an elder announced "the faithful slave has seen it fit to change the format of our ministry in 2016, and more information will come".

i guess the desired reaction is to get jws preoccupied with what those changes could possibly be, and if it means that the end is nearer or some crap.. with that said, i've been suckered into wanting to know what these 'changes' will be.

does anyone know?

I think they're just changing the reporting in 2016. All placements are lumped into one category. IIRC not all the data is even sent to the branch.

No Soliciting signage and JW Policy

does anyone have a copy of the boe letter directing publishers to not go into apartment complexes and/or condominium complexes with no soliciting signs?

i ask because yesterday and buttheaded jw (that obviously had no idea who i am or my past) was knocking on doors in our condo complex.

he would have had to drive past a sign which clearly states "no solicitation or material distribution.".

As far as the USA is concerned, the activities of JW's are not considered soliciting. There's been court cases establishing this. "No soliciting signs" or "no salesman" signs or whatever, technically do not apply.

No Trespassing (or I suppose NO JW) signs are definitely the way to go. Now I think 'most' JWs avoid homes with them (YMMV) because if a householder presses charges or whatever (which they can) the WT will not back that JW in court.

so, this week's sm has extracts from the yearbook.. the [police] chief turned to his assistant and said, in all my 32years of serving on the force, i have never heard anyonethank us for our work!.
